Varicella-zoster Virus IgM ELISA Kit
Principle
This kit detects Varicella-Zoster virus IgM antibody (VZV-IgM) in human serum/plasma. Polystyrene microwell strips are pre-coated with anti-human IgM (anti-μ chain) antibodies. Upon adding the specimen, IgM antibodies are captured, with unbound components (including IgG) removed by washing. Next, HRP-conjugated VZV antigens specifically bind to captured VZV-IgM. After washing away unbound conjugates, chromogen solutions (TMB substrate) are added. The (anti-μ)-(VZV-IgM)-(VZV-Ag-HRP) immunocomplex catalyzes TMB to form a blue product, which turns yellow upon adding Stop Solution. Absorbance is measured by a microplate reader to determine VZV-IgM presence, enabling rapid detection of recent VZV infection via specific IgM antibody capture and enzymatic color development.
